Parliament urges China to end repression in Tibet, appeals to Int'l community for help
DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has strongly urged the Chinese government to immediately stop end atrocities in Tibet and sought help from the international community to facilitate the release of Tibetans detained in the ongoing peaceful protests in eastern Tibet.

Australian Senate Passes Motion on Tibet
DHARAMSHALA: A motion from Senators Bob Brown and Nick Xenophon supporting the wishes of the Tibetan people to have His Holiness the Dalai Lama return to Tibet was passed in the Senate on 15 June. The motion “expresses disappointment that neither the Prime Minister (Ms Gillard) nor the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Rudd) were available to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama” during his recent visit to the Parliament House.
Indian Military Delegation Visits China
An Indian military delegation has arrived in China for a visit aimed at re-establishing defense ties between the two Asian giants after a year-long freeze. The eight-member delegation led by Major General Gurmeet Singh arrived in Beijing Sunday. The week-long visit will include meetings with Chinese counterparts in Beijing, Shanghai and the restive Xinjiang region that borders Kashmir.
