The Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein commemorated the 76th birth anniversary if His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at the monastery of Rikon. The monks of the monastery were joined by a crowd of around 90 people in dedicating prayers of Gyalway Shapten and others for a long and healthy life of His Holiness. On your 76th birthday

Over 1200 Monks Expelled from Kirti Monastery – Tibet
Dharamshala- Chinese officials have declared over 1200 members of Tibet's Kirti Monastery to be expelled. In huge breach of international human rights, Chinese officials, who are forcibly controlling the sacred Buddhist institution of over 5000 monks.

Atleast 39 Arrested, Tibet Pictures Depict Tense Situation
Dharamshala: - The holy Buddhist month of Saga Dawa saw a series of protests in Kardze (Ch: Ganzi) in Eastern Tibet. Atleast 39 known Tibetans have been arrested in June 2011 for staging demonstrations calling for a "Free Tibet", "Long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama" and "Return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet".

UN to send an independent fact-finding mission to Tibet now! About 40 members of the sections and Turbenthal Rikon participated in the action in front of the UN building at the Place des Nations on 27 June 2011 from 11:30am to 4.00pm in Geneva, Switzerland.
