His Holiness the Dalai Lama Meets with President Barack Obama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama met with President Obama this morning at the White House. This was the third meeting between the Tibetan spiritual leader and the sitting American President. The earlier two meetings, also in the White House, took place on February 18th 2010 and July 16th 2011.

In the first self-immolation protest to take place this year in Tibet or Tibetan regions, a 27 year old man named Phagmo Samdrub set fire to himself on Wednesday at 9:30 pm local time.

Twenty Tibetans Held in Protest Against Tunnel Digging in Sichuan County
Chinese authorities detained 20 Tibetans in a massive crackdown this week on protests against the construction of tunnels for a road project which led to the collapse and damage of residential buildings in a county in Sichuan province's Kardze (in Chinese) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, according to sources.
