Now a ''Mr Tibet'' pageant
Dharamsala, Mar 28 (PTI) After ''Miss Tibet'', a first pageant for men will be organised for the community in June this year.
The first ''Mr. Tibet'' as well a singing competition ''Tibet Idol 2011'' has received "the blessings of both the Central Tibetan Administration and the Dalai Lama," its organiser Mahesh Yadav said after meeting the Tibetan spiritual leader at Mecleodganj.
Yadav said that he is confident that the event shall be a great success.
The two events will be held on June 7 at the Tibetan institute of Performing Art (TIPA) in McLeod Ganj. The competitions are backed by Aman Gandhi Film Productions and World Tibet Congress and aim at "promoting world peace and non-violent struggle for free Tibet".
The Miss Tibet pageant will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The 2009 recipient of the Miss Tibet crown, Tenzin Choezom, shall be the event coordinator.
Nominees for ''Mr. Tibet'' are required to have a height requirement of at leasr 5"8 f (1.72m) and they should be between 18 and 30 years of age.
Nominees for ''Tibet Idol'' must be 18-35 years old. PTI CORR
