Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein (TCLS) observed for the 3rd time on Monday, 25th July 2011 from 11.00 till 16.00 h peaceful demonstration in front of the U.N Office in Geneva, appealing the United Nations to send an independent fact finding mission with full unhindered access to Tibet as soon as possible.

The demonstration was organized through sections Aargau and Solothurn in common, and there were about 60 persons who took part in it. The message this time being STOP TORTURE in TIBET, they highlighted the presence of Chinese Gulags in Tibet by setting up a small prison and enchained and injured Tibetan prisoners inside as a result of Torture. This message was also born on two large banners in Tibetan/Chinese and English. Many demonstrators wore Green T-Shirts on which it reads "UNO send fact finding mission to Tibet now!" Flyers on Torture in Tibet were distributed to the many visitors from all over the world, among them many Chinese tourists who took pictures of our gathering. 230 signatures were collected on that afternoon to back our petition. Two official letters were sent by post to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mrs. Navenethem Pillay and to the General Secretary of the UN, Mr. Ban Ki Moon. Mr. Tenzin Samphel Kayta from Tibet Bureau visited us and gave a speech to the participants. Mrs Pasang Memmishofer, President of TCSL spoke to the participants and stressed the importance of observing such rallies in Geneva to remind UN again and again that the issue of Tibet is still not resolved and there is a tragedy taking place in Tibet which should be protected by UN and to alleviate the sufferings of our brothers and sisters in Tibet by denouncing all violations in Tibet by all Tibetans in free countries. We shall not stop till we get an answer. Before praying and singing the National Anthem the two Thümis from Aargau, Mr. Yonten G. Tashikhangsar and from Solothurn, Mr. Gonga Thaktsang thanked everybody for their support.
