Tibet's Leader To Speak of Ancient Wisdom, Modern Thoughts’ in Mumbai

Dharamsala: Confirming Tibet's spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit to the Mumbai University, director of the Board of College and University Development Dr Rajpal Hande said, "Our invitation to the Dalai Lama has been accepted and he will be coming here on February 18.
His Holiness' visit comes after high profile visit by the US first lady Michelle Obama in November. During her visit Michelle Obama interacted with the university students and visited the university library. She also met with the children from an NGO -"Make A Difference (MAD)".

His Holiness will talk to students on ‘Ancient Wisdom, Modern Thoughts'. After the lecture, He will spend another hour interacting with students, university officials quoted as saying. His Holiness will also meet academicians from different departments. More programmes are still being chalked out for the visit.

Before His visit to the varsity in Febuarary, His Holiness would be juggling a busy schedule. On December 30, His Holiness will inaugurate the 78th Teerthandana Sanyasi Sammelan at the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust, Sivagiri Mutt, in Kerala. On January 9, His Holiness will speak on the different levels of happiness at the 30th anniversary of Tushita Dharma Celebrations in New Delhi.

The two-day function of Kerala will also be attended by former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Karnataka Higher Education Minister V S Acharya, SNDP General Secretary Vellappalli Natesan, Goa Transport Minister Sudin Ramakrishnan, Dr Vandana Siva, among others.

His Holiness will also conduct a meet on Shantideva's ‘A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life' and Kamalashila's ‘The Middling States of Meditation' between January 12 and 16 in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
