First time Buddist teaching in Aargau Weekend Tibetan School

Aargau: Sunday, 29th September 2019, Tibetan Language and Culture School of Aargau organized first time teaching on Tibetan Buddhism from 10 to 12.30 in Aargau. The Weekend Tibetan children and youth received Buddhist teaching in general and in particular on Four Noble Truths from Acharya Pema Wangyal. Acharya explained the teaching with simple example to make it interesting and easy to understand. The teaching concluded with a positive note with Questions & Answers session.

The Four Noble Truths

When Buddha reached Enlightenment, he decided to spread his teachings. He understood that life brought about suffering and that in order to be free from it; we must observe certain ways and know certain wisdom. With that, he taught the most important elements of Buddhism, the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.

The Four Noble Truths explains how suffering is part and parcel of our lives but there is always respite from it. On the other hand the Eightfold Path teaches the proper way of living in order to achieve freedom from suffering and enlightenment. Before we go into the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path let us first look at the core of Buddhism which is the Three Jewels.

The Three Jewels are:

The ideals at the heart of Buddhism are collectively known as the Three Jewels.

• The Buddha
• The Dharma
• The Sangha

The Four Noble Truths; if you take time to appreciate what the Four Noble Truths are really about, everything else about the Buddhism will be much clearer.
The Truth of Suffering (dukkha) The Truth of the Cause of Suffering (samudaya) The Truth of the Freedom From Suffering( nirhodha) The Truth of Path of Liberation from Suffering ( magga)

The Eightfold Path:

The way to Enlightenment in Buddhism. The Path comprises eight teachings Buddhists follow in their everyday lives.

• Right View
• Right Intention
• Right Action
• Right Speech
• Right Livelihood
• Right Effort
• Right Mindfulness
• Right Meditation.
