Geneva: The three chairpersons of the Tibet Discussion Group in the German Parliament urged German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel in an open letter “to advocate for an immediate end to the Chinese violence towards the Tibetan people, in talks with the Chinese leadership during the upcoming G20-Summit in Cannes.”

Dharamshala, October 25: A report from Tibet confirmed here by Tibetan government-in-exile said a monk of Karze monastery in Karze in eastern Tibet has set himself on fire this morning.

Geneva: Over a thousand Tibetans gathered in front of the United Nations in Geneva on 23 October to express their solidarity with Tibetans who recently self-immolated in Ngaba and Tawo in Eastern Tibet. Mr. Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile called upon the UN to send a fact-finding mission to Kirti Monastery to investigate the situation there.

DHARAMSHALA, October 19: In one of the strongest political statements since the transfer of his political power, Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama today joined a call for a day-long hunger fast and prayer service by the Kashag (cabinet).

DHARAMSHALA, India: A Tibetan nun killed herself by self-immolation in Ngaba in northeastern Tibet on Monday, while two peaceful Tibetan protesters were shot and wounded by security forces in Karze in eastern Tibet on Sunday.

DHARAMSHALA, October 15: Yet another Tibetan self-immolated in the distraught Ngaba region of eastern Tibet earlier today protesting China’s rule over Tibet. The incident happened at around 11.50 am local time. The individual is being described as Norbu Damdul, around 19 years of age who is a former monk at Kirti Monastery in Ngaba.

Dharamshala, October 15: A 19 year old Tibetan man from Ngaba County in today’s Sichuan Province on Saturday attempted immolation in yet another protest apparently expressing discontent with Beijing’s rule of Tibet, taking the number of immolation protests to 8 this year.

DHARAMSHALA, October 8: Following the tragic incidents of self immolations in Tibet and a benumbed unresponsiveness from the exile Tibetan administration, a global coalition of Tibetans and supporters are planning a mass mobilisation at Chinese embassies across the world on Wednesday November 2.

DHARAMSHALA, October 7: Reports coming out of Tibet confirm that two more Tibetans set themselves on fire today in an apparent anti-China protest. One is feared dead while the other is being described in serious condition.

DHARAMSHALA, October 7: Coinciding with the gathering of over a million devotees in the largest central Indian city of Nagpur, Indian friends and supporters of Tibet took out a bike rally yesterday under the banner, “Free Tibet; Save India.”

October 3: In reports coming out of Tibet, over 200 Tibetans in eastern Tibet took out a peaceful protest demanding the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama from exile and freedom for Tibet on October 1 – the 62nd founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

October3: Reports are coming in from reliable sources that another monk in Ngaba region of eastern Tibet set himself on fire today. The incident reportedly occurred in the turbulent Ngaba region which has witnessed three self immolations this year alone.
