In another fiery protest against the Chinese government’s repressive rule in Tibet, an 18 year old Tibetan teenager died yesterday (27 Nov) after setting himself on fire around 11 pm (local time) in Sangkhog, Labrang in north-eastern Tibet

Three more Tibetans have died after setting themselves on fire in north-eastern Tibet in the last two days, taking the total self-immolations to 85 out of which 22 took place in November alone.

Fresh reports coming out of Tibet say a Tibetan man died after setting himself in Luchu (Ch: Luqu) in Kanlho in north-eastern Tibet (incorporated into China’s Gansu Province) Thursday night, taking the total self-immolations to 80, including 18 in this month alone.

“The self-immolations are very sad, but the Chinese government is not investigating the real causes of the self-immolations. They are taking the easy way out by simply blaming us for all the problems in Tibet”, His Holiness said.

Gonpo Tsering, 19, set fire to himself on fire around 2 pm in Lushoe village in Tsoe county (China’s Hezou in Gansu province) in north-eastern Tibet on Saturday. As flames consumed his body, he raised slogans demanding freedom for Tibetans and return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his homeland.

6 self-immolations by Tibetans in Two Days across Tibet since Wednesday (7th November). The total self-immolations in Tibet has reached 69, out of which 54 have died.

A Tibetan man set himself on fire in Rebgong (Ch: Tongren) in north-eastern Tibet around 10:00 am (local time) on Sunday. He died on the spot.
