August 25, 2023
Dharamshala
: The Central Tibetan Administration welcomes Tibetan Youth based in Europe who are interested in attending the Geneva Forum 2023 to apply online by 1 September 2023. Through this opportunity, the CTA seeks to empower Tibetan youth through the discussions and interactions that will take place during the two-day forum. From the pool of applicants, a limited number of 20 Tibetans will be selected based on their SOP (250-300 words) and resume submitted.

The Geneva Forum is a CTA-organised international forum on human rights held in Geneva, Switzerland since 2018. It was conceived in the backdrop of the third cycle of China’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR), therefore, the first Geneva Forum was held on 2 November 2018. The fifth Geneva Forum will be held on 26-27 October 2023.

The central theme this year is “Human Rights in Decline: Regions Under China” where a number of human rights experts, researchers, advocates, defenders, scholars and policymakers will deliberate on various topics under the central theme over the two days. The selected group of Europe-based Tibetan youth will have the opportunity to attend in person and interact with the guests, speakers, and other participants during the Forum. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered by CTA as per guidelines that will be emailed later to the selected applicants.

Due to the limited number of slots, interested Tibetan youth in Europe are encouraged to apply immediately and by 1 September, after which the Department of Information and International Relations will not be able to accept individual requests.
