Ü-Tsang, Kham and Amdo, the three traditional Tibetan provinces choose, depending tarierInnen 10 parliaments. The four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and the traditional Bönanhänger each elect 2 representatives. four members are elected by Tibetans in western countries: two from Europe and two from North America.

The two members from Europe are elected by Tibetans living in Europe. The current parliamentary representatives are:

Ven. Ven. Thupten Thupten Wangchen Wangchen

The Ven. Thupten Wangchen was born in 1954 in Tibet, in the village of kirong (happy valley, in Tibetan) through the auspices of H.H the Dalai Lama and the Indian government assistance, could enter a school for Tibetan refugees in Dalhousie.    Read more »

Chungdak Chungdak Koren Koren

Chungdak Koren was born in Phari, Central Tibet in 1951. Chungdak Koren studied in St. Joseph’s Convent, Kalimpong and UCNL School in Dheradun. Soon after completing her school education, Chungdak volunteered at the Transit School in Dharamsala set up by the Department of Education to meet the educational needs of Tibetan children in 1967-68.    Read more »
